Becoming,

The Process of Integration

Many people come to therapy feeling 'stuck'—like they’re carrying a weight or general unease they can’t quite name. In our work, we don't just try to get rid of the weight you carry in with you. It’s part of your story. Instead, we work on clarifying and deepening your understanding of yourself through exploration of what you are carrying with you. Through this process we begin to integrate a more coherent understanding of your feelings, thoughts and behaviors to engage in new energy and possibilities.

Couples Counseling

Protecting our Hearts

Couples enter therapy often due to finding themselves in repeated conflicts and stuck points, or the same general unease of disconnection. There is a reason we feel guarded in relationships. Most of the habits that keep us 'stuck' were originally built to protect our hearts from being broken or from further separation.

We created these layers of defense to stay safe in our relationships, but over time, those same protections can become the things that leave us feeling isolated, lost or disconnected. I help couples better understand their differences, each other and what new relationship capacities may be needed to reconnect.

I offer couples counseling to partners of all orientations and constellations. Couples attend therapy for a range of concerns and presenting issues including;

Conflict, Communication Challenges, Intimacy & Sex, Pre-Marital Counseling, Family of Origin & Extended Family concerns as a Couple, Infidelity, Betrayal, Family Planning, Relationship Maintenance, Life Transitions as a Couple, Codependency, Co-Parenting, Separation & Divorce, Impacts of Trauma on Attachment, Intercultural Couples

Family Therapy

The Family Stone - Structural Integrity

Families often move through the world like a group of statues carved too closely together—where one person's movement inadvertently chips at another's edges. We move away from the bracing friction of trying to change each other and toward the dignity of separate, yet interconnected, solid ground. We refine the boundaries so that the family isn't a "stony" weight, but a collection of individuals who are grounded enough to be close and connected, without being crushed.

I offer family therapy to family systems of all orientations and constellations, including parent & adult/teen child relationships, sibling relationships, blended families, nuclear families, co-parenting and chosen families. I have a special interest in working with Mothers & Daughters. Family members attend therapy for a range of concerns and presenting issues including;

Conflict, Communication Challenges, Mothers & Daughters, Inter-generational Trauma, Codependency, Family of Origin & Extended Family Concerns, Life Span Adjustments within the Family, Co-Parenting, Separation & Divorce, Family Grief, Adoption

Clinical Consultation

Consultation provides a necessary pause to look at how you are showing up in your work and relationships to clients. Whether you're stuck on a difficult case or want to deepen your clinical skills, we step away from the day-to-day pressure to get a better view of the work you’re doing and the presenting issues that your are working with. It is a space to find clarity, regain your perspective, and discover new energy in the work.

Community and support are essential to the work of therapy, as we all grow through our relationships with others. I am passionate about connecting with other clinicians to offer support and collaboration on clinical work. I provide guidance on case conceptualization, "self-of-the-therapist" topics, and complex trauma cases, as well as practical support for licensure and professional development.

I work with people of all races, ethnic groups, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities.
